Just 5% of Enterprises Have Deployed Quantum-Safe Encryption

The vast majority of businesses in the US, UK and Australia have not yet deployed post-quantum cryptography (PQC), despite a majority believing that quantum computing will break current encryption within five years, according to DigiCert.

The TLS/SSL certificate authority (CA) polled around 1000 senior and C-level cybersecurity managers in the three countries, in organizations of various sizes, nearly half of which had over 1000 employees. Just 5% said they have quantum encryption already in place, although over half said they feel “very prepared” (38%) or “extremely prepared” (19%) for the coming threat posed by cryptographically relevant quantum computers (CRQCs).

CISA Warns of Cyberattacks Against Critical Oil and Gas Infrastructure

The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) — in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Department of Energy (DOE) — has issued a warning about cyberattacks targeting the nation’s critical oil and natural gas infrastructure. 

According to the warning, these attacks are focusing on the operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) of these critical infrastructure entities. CISA urges organizations to evaluate and bolster their cybersecurity posture against threat actors targeting OT and ICS. {Read full article here}

TSA imposes new rule on American Airlines in leaked security plans

New screening procedures will be mandated at private terminals for ‘by the seat’ charter operators such as JSX. During the summer, TSA Administrator David Pekoske announced that public charter operators would not be required to use commercial terminals; instead, they would revise security plans.
